About Croatia

Croatia has one of the most beautiful and picturesque coastlines in the world. The incredibly indented Mediterranean coastline with many islands and gulfs is 1,777 kilometres in length, and boasts with 1,185 islands, which together have 4,058 kilometres of coastline. The biggest are the islands of Cres and Krk.

The Adriatic coast of Croatia is bestowed by numerous natural beauties, mighty ridges, hidden bays, rocky reefs and picturesque beaches. In its hinterland you will be captured by the beauty of evergreen Mediterranean plant life, olive tree grooves and vineyards, colourful lavender fields, cypresses, and pine trees.

The coastline and the islands are marked by numerous small towns, where time has stopped. Medieval fortresses, castles, churches and cathedrals testify of rich cultural history.
In Istria you can visit interesting towns like Porec, Buje, Buzet, Pazin, Umag, Rovinj, Pula, Motovun, Hum and the Brioni Islands. Hum is the smallest town in the world, for it has only twenty houses.

In the Kvarner region you can visit Rijeka, Opatija, Crikvenica, Novi Vinodolski and the islands of Cres, Losinj, Krk and Rab. Opatija is a town with the longest resort and congressional tradition on the Croatian coast.

In Dalmatia you will be spellbound by the cities like Zadar, Sibenik, Trogir, Split, famous Dubrovnik, and the blue of Adriatic Sea with the islands of Brac, Dugi otok, Hvar, Vis, Korcula, Lastovo and Mljet. The Kornati National Park is the most indented group of islands in the Mediterranean Sea, with approximately 140 uninhabited islands. The Kornati Archipelago is heaven for nautical tourism.
