Thalassotherapy (in Greek: thalassa = sea) is an important branch of medicinal activity, as it employs sea products for preventive and curative health care, for rehabilitation and cosmetic purposes alike. Our health resort has been using sea products originating from the Secovlje salt pans from over a century now. In the salt pans, salt has been extracted and produced in a traditional way since the 13th century. Two important by-products are obtained in this process: salt pan mud - fango and brine - Acqua Madre, both of them having strong healing properties.

Salt pan mud - fango is a recognised natural healer that alleviates degenerative and inflammatory (rheumatic) diseases of the locomotor system, postoperative conditions and conditions caused by injuries to the locomotor system, skin and gynaecological troubles, diseases connected with the respiratory system. In recent years, fango has become increasingly popular in beauty treatments such as face care, body shaping and removal of cellulite.

Brine - Acqua Madre is used to alleviate pain, in cases of post rheumatic and postoperative conditions, circulatory disorders, skin and gynaecological troubles as well as to overcome stress and tension. What is more, its effects are essential to beauty treatments as it leaves the skin elastic, fresh, revitalized, velvety and youthful in appearance. Beside the use of mud and brine, we employ other natural factors as well: sea salt, algae, sea water and beneficial Mediterranean climate.

At our centre we offer various Ayurveda treatments. They are performed by professional Ayurveda therapists who have attained their knowledge from Indian experts of Ayurveda with many years of experience. The expert examination is also performed by an expert, namely an Ayurveda doctor. All the products used in our Ayurveda centre are exclusively of a natural origin and high quality, prepared according to authentic Indian recipes.

The Centre consists of a complex of swimming pools with thermomineral water, spacious san terrace and fitness facilities. Bathing in the pools with thermomineral water has beneficial effects on the skin, respiratory organs, locomotor system and general state of well-being.

Thermomineral water (link chemical analysis of thermomineral water) was first discovered in 1994. It arises from the depth of 705 m. This thermomineral water is known to be unique in this part of Europe as it contains not only sulphur but also sodium chloride and other important substances of sea origin, thus combining the healing properties of mineral and sea water.

From as soon as early spring through late autumn, you can enjoy the sun on the spacious sun terrace, refresh yourself in the small outdoor swimming pool or simply entertain yourself by sitting, day-dreaming and enjoying the breathtaking view of the sea.
